Before start to play, you need to choose your game from the game selection screen. Just press "Up" or "Down" on directional buttons and then press the X button to accept.
At the moment you are on the game selection screen, you can't use your Controller in "DualShock mode"
If your controller is not responding, then Press [F5 key] to Change to normal Controller mode. (On ePSXe, Windows)
